Sintropia Urbana speculates on the relationship between humanity, Nature, and technology through its notion of sensors, responding with a journey of nine sculptures that invites the public to discover the microworlds of the Cousiño Palace’s backyard. During the exhibition, these structures will transform in accordance with the seasons, establishing a crossover between the recording of environmental data and the natural proliferation of the species that inhabit them. In this way, it creates a calm dialogue between the city and its ecosystem, fostering environmental regeneration and our connection with Nature through research, technology, and art.

At a time when rethinking our relationship with the environment is crucial, Habita Nodriza proposes the exploration of new ways of living through the design of environments that nourish both the human and non-human species, combining the organic with the technological.

“Sintropía Urbana” speculates on the relationship between humanity, Nature, and technology through its notion of sensors. As humans, we determine our connections with our surroundings through our perception, emotions, memories, and imagination. Nature, as a vital sensor, reflects the state of an ecosystem through the growth of different species, the resilience and density of life in a given place. Technology is today a crucial tool for capturing environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light, making seasonality tangible.

The resulting sculpture route invites the public to discover the backyard of Palacio Cousiño, Chile through the sensitivity of the living; to discover ancient root structures, gestures of natural pollination, vestiges of flora that have disappeared, and those forgotten spaces that still hold memories and inspire imagination. During the exhibition period, these structures will transform according to the seasons, establishing a connection between the recording of environmental data and the natural proliferation of the species that inhabit them. Through these living, symbiotic sculptures, this project creates a peaceful dialogue between the city and its ecosystem. Promoting environmental regeneration and strengthening our connection with nature through research, technology, and art.
